Learning Outcomes and Application | This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to prepare, operate, maintain, store and secure small vessels within range of ready assistance and isolated from heavy boating traffic and navigational hazards. The operation is restricted to the basic use, manoeuvring and loading of the vessel. It does not include interaction of the vessel with boat traffic or other hazards. This unit applies to individuals who operate small vessels for aquaculture and fishing operations.All work must be carried out to comply with workplace procedures, according to state/territory health and safety, biosecurity and environmental regulations, legislation and standards that apply to the workplace. Licencing and regulatory requirements apply to this unit. Users are required to check with the relevant maritime authority for requirements. | ||
